We strongly encourage our guests to visit numerous historic monuments of Warmia. The town of Lidzbark Warminski (formerly Heilsberg), called "The Jewel of Warmia", features the atmosphere of centuries-old city. Gothic castle erected in XIV century, fragments of fortifications with a magnificent city gate are definitely worth visiting. Medieval churches in Orneta and Nowe Miasto, baroque palaces and abbeys, and numerous country manors located throughout the region are open for visitors. Guests interested in XX century history can visit the "Wolf 's Liar", heavily fortified Hitler's Headquarters in Gierloz.
